The Fact Factory
Mixed media assemblage
11 x 13.25 x 8 inches
The Fact Factory, a satirical commentary on disinformation, is a mixed-media assemblage exploring the visual paradox of a contained space. The observer is invited to consider why their face does not appear reflected in the mirror.
All objects in this assemblage were created by hand using a variety of materials and techniques.
At the End of the Street
There is a curious place in every neighbourhood, an unwelcoming gap in the community. Sometimes it's a structure with a mysterious history, a story unknown. It’s a place that sparks rumour, speculation, concern and perhaps a bit of fear. Yet it can also be an unexpected force for neighbourhood unity, a reason for people who might never strike up a conversation to talk, gossip, and speculate.
Mixed media assemblage
13”x 10.5” x 7.5”
Acrylic, plaster, cement, glass, epoxy, paper, photographs, wire, metal, wood, and LED lights to switch to a night perspective.
Illegal Eiffel Towers
This piece is based on an observation during a visit to Paris. It depicts the tensions created by trinket vendors selling what are described by police as “illegal miniature Eiffel Towers”—souvenir sales that are not conducted in officially licensed tourist shops. A search of the newspaper archives reveals a succession of raids and seizures of these “illegal” miniature objects conducted by police. The vendors of these "illegal" Eiffel Towers are often migrants struggling to survive on the streets of Paris.
Created inside a vintage dresser drawer, everything in the piece has been constructed by hand, including dozens of miniature Eiffel Towers.
Materials include epoxy, glass, concrete, metal, acrylic paint, photographs, and paper.
Dimensions: 27” wide, 18” high, 7” deep (68.7 cm x 45.7 cm x 17.7 cm)
Vanishing Points
This piece explores nostalgia, isolation, and the solitude of the creative process. Constructed inside a wooden wine-bottle crate, reflections, photographs, and LED lights create the illusion of depth and passageways.
Each miniature element is constructed by hand with additional found objects and vintage materials.
Materials include metal, glass, wood, fabric, leather, paper, epoxy, and photographs.
Dimensions: 19 ¾” wide, 12 ¾” high, 4 ½” deep (51 cm x 32.5 cm x 11.4 cm)
